My name is Kelsey, and I run fuckyeahhope, or at least I used to before I stopped posting here. My personal blog is the-vashtanerada; some of you follow me on there.

If you could do me a favor, I would appreciate it. I was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, and I had open heart surgery when I was fifteen months old. I had a valve missing, and they reconstructed one for me. Now, I’m an adult, and my heart has grown, but the valve has not. I am basically going into congestive heart failure. I have no money because I cannot work, I’ve had to quit college because of this, and every insurance company I’ve applied to has turned me down because of my pre-existing conditions.

Signal boost. This shit right here is what is wrong with our healthcare system. An insurance company won’t keep this girls heart from failing because it is a “pre-existing” condition. Bullshit. Absolutely bullshit.

Shared this on Facebook, sharing it here now. I agree that if this is a pre-existing condition, then being alive is a pre-existing condition by their standards. Hoping that things change soon. This is a girl who obviously desires to be a part of society. How sad is it that our government’s stance on healthcare denies her that? 

My grandmother had CHF, one of my uncles is on the heart transplant list. I have a soft spot in my heart for those with heart troubles. Help this girl out if you can :)
